Course Description:

Ballymena Golf Club was founded in 1903 and reflects the maturity of a Parkland Course of its vintage. With tree lined fairways and strategically located placed to punish the golfer who makes the wrong decision with club selection.

A relatively short course by today's standards, Ballymena is a relatively flat course where the visitor can enjoy a leisurely round of golf just outside the town and relax at the 19th and enjoy the catering facility that the club offers to visitors and members alike.

Societies and Green Fees are welcome most days (see above) and group rates are available.

Club History

Instituted 1903   affiliated 1908

There is a little confusion about the exact date Ballymena Golf Club was founded. The "Irish Golfers Guide" gives it as 1902, whereas the "Golf Annual" gives it as 1904. Nevertheless it started as a nine-hole course laid out on the old racecourse at Broughshane. The land was secured from the Rt. Hon. R. T. O’Neill, M. P. the first Captain was Mr. John K. Currie.

Location

Off the M2 at Ballymena, turn away from Ballymena towards Broughshane on the A42 past the Rugby Club, the Course is on the right-hand side.
