Course Description:

This mature 9-hole Parkland course has been in existence since 1911 and has been at its present location since 1924. The club was a 18-hole until 1930 when some of the land was sold, however it retains all of the features that only a course of its maturity can be found, with mature tree lined fairways, well positioned bunkers and panoramic views of Belfast Lough.

There is an artificial lake, which supplies water to Belfast City and forms an interracial part of the course, coming into play on many of the holes. The 5th a 370 yards Par 4 and the 7th a 361 yards Par 4 are both guarded by a meandering stream. The course plays to a Par of 70 with a standard scratch of 70 off the white tees. The course record is a commendable 65 shot by Alan Porter in 1999.

The visitor is extended a very warm welcome but if you intended to dine in the evening after your days golf be sure to bring a jacket and tie as they are moderator in the clubhouse in the evenings.

Club History

Instituted 1911 affiliated 1911Cliftonville was an eighteen-hole course when it was founded in 1911 and was located at "Deerpark". The early records of the club have been mislaid, but the records of the GUI show the club was affiliated on the 15th June 1911. The Club moved to its present location in 1924 and formed a limited company. It was still an eighteen-hole course until 1930 when some of the land was sold and it became a nine-hole as it is to this day.
