Course Description:
Hilton Templepatrick Golf Club took seven years from the drawing board to completion. Founded in 1999 and designed by David Jones ably assisted by David Feherty who also collaborated when designing the Klassis course in Turkey.Jones imposed his own, individual stamp on his creation at the Castle Upton Estate when designing the 7,012 yards Par 71 with a standard scratch of 72 off the back tees. Jones is on record as saying " As a relative newcomer to golf-course architecture I was thrilled, not only to be chosen as the designer, but to have been allowed full expression for my ideas. I have seen new courses in Ireland which look as though they have been transplanted from the States, and I was determined to avoid that".
David Jones made excellent use of the classic, parkland features of the Castle Upton Estate with mature terrain overlooking the County Antrim hills. By combining a broad selection of tees making the course adaptable to golfers of all standards.
The Hilton Templepatrick Golf Club incorporates the magnificent Hilton Hotel which caters for the golfers every, need and a warm welcome is extended to visitors. Located off the M2 motorway and close to Belfast’s International Airport, the Hilton Templepatrick is a must when in this part of the country. With 130 bedrooms and Livingwell health club.
Voted the No. 57-ranked golf course in Ireland, by “Golf Digest Ireland” in 2008.
