Course Description:
Greenore Golf Club was founded in 1896 and has been redesigned by the late Eddie Hackett. It is a par 71 measuring 6,647 yd's off the white tees with a standard scratch of 73. Greenore is a flat semi-links course set in beautiful surroundings with splendid views of Carlingford Lough and the Mourne mountains. Every golfer playing here has experienced the best of both worlds with standard and links holes featuring on this magnificent 18-hole course, featuring rivers, ponds and pine trees.Greenore Golf Club opened its spacious new clubhouse in 1994, where the golfers can relax after their round of golf. The visitor is assured of a warm welcome at Greenore and a memorable game of golf on this fine course.

Club History
Instituted 1896, affiliated 1896. At a meeting held in the Greenore Hotel, in October 1896, for the purpose of forming a golf club called Greenore Golf Club. Lord Rathmore was elected the first President and Mr. R. Dempster was the first Captain. It began as a twelve-hole course and was increased to eighteen-holes by 1897, under the guidance of Mr. G. L. Baillie. The club was owned and maintained by the The London and North Western Railway Co. and was widely advertised in its early years. Ladies were admitted from the beginning and they had their own clubhouse by 1898.

First right out of Dundalk to Greenore.Midway between Dublin & Belfast, 15 miles north of Dundalk and 12-miles south of Newry.
Members Achievements
Seamus McParland Winner of the Connacht Seniors Veterans Champions 2007. Seamus was also a member of the Irish Team which won the European Amateur Seniors Championship in Slovenia in 2007.John McGinn won the Irish Close Championship at Carlow Golf Club on June the 29th 2002, and received his first cap for Ireland for the Home Internationals at Royal St. David's Golf Club in Harlech, Wales, from September 11th-13th 2002. He also won the Dundalk Scratch Cup the same year.
Siobhan McCartan was selected for the Irish Girls' team for the Smurfit Interprovincial Championship at Enniscrone Golf Club from April the 18th to 20th 2001.
Greenore Golf Club won the All-Ireland Irish Junior Cup in 1911, when the team was V. B. Carroll, W. E. Elkins, J. McAreavey, C. W. Wilson, W. J. Carroll, F. J. Horne and J. Marron.
Greenore won the Leinster Final of the Barton Shield in 1987, when the team was, Pat McParland, Peadar McParland, J. G. Hynes, M. McGrane, S. McParland, E. Hynes and B. Farrell.
Greenore were Leinster Champions and All-Ireland Finalists in the Irish Mixed Foursomes in 1998, when the team was, Ronan McParland, Pat McParland, Angela McParland, Fergus Hanley, Celine Griffin, Noel McGrane, Antoinette Shields, Gerard Woods, Patricia Brennan, Morgan McGarritty, Tom Smith, Seamus McParland, Elizabeth Parker, Michael Quinn, Therese Quinn and Maura Conyard, they were captained by Tom Connor and Kevin Moroney.
They won the Leinster Final of the Irish Mixed Foursomes in 1989, when the team was, R. Daly, P. McParland, K. McGuire, C. Hynes, D. McParland, F. McGrum, P. McParland, S. McParland, M. Rogan, M. McCartain, R. O'Hagan, A. McParland, K. McCartain, M. McGoey, E. Parker, A. Parker and E. McCartain, they were managed by J. Clarke and J. Murphy.
They won the Leinster Final of the Irish Mixed Foursomes in 1986, when the team was, Kevin Maguire, J. Quinn, N. McGrane, S. McParland, S. McParland, B. Farrell, C. Hynes, R. O'Hagan, S. Berrills, M. McGoey, K. Reavey, C. Larkin, Pat McParland, T. Quinn, and Peadar McParland, they were managed by J. Clarke.
They first won the Leinster Final of the Irish Mixed Foursomes in 1984, when the team was, Kevin Maguire, Seamus McParland, Pat McParland, Con Hynes, Tony Maguire, Chris Larkin, Theresa Sweeney, Kathleen Reavey and Theresa Quinn.
Greenore won the Co. Louth J. B. Carr Diamond Trophy in 1996, when the team was, Sean Bennet, Noel Tumelty, Val O'Farrel, Eric Hynes, Kevin Moroney, Ben Luttrell, S. Conyard, Leo Gormely, Eamonn McNulty, Joe Molly and Eddie McGrath, they were captained by Harry Boland. They won it again in 1999.
A. McCartan was selected on the ILGU Senior B squad in November 2000.
S. McCartan was selected in the ILGU Junior squad in November 2000.
Noel M. Grane won the West of Ireland Open Championship at Co. Sligo G. C. in 1987.
Seamus McParland represented Leinster from 1985 to 1994, having played 23 matches.
D. McGrane played Leinster Youths from 1981 to 1984, playing 10 matches.
