Course Description:

Ballaghaderreen Golf Club is a mature Parkland Course it is relatively flat course, with out of bounds coming into play on three of the holes. The 166 metres Par 3 5th is played to a well-protected postage stamp green. A disused quarry comes into play on the 1st and 9th.Designed by Paddy Skerritt it measures 5,339 metres Par 70 with a standard scratch of 67.The members are renowned for their friendly welcome extended to visitors.

3 miles outside Ballaghaderreen, on the Castlerea Road, look out for the sign-post directing you left after you cross the bridge.






Members Achievements

The Ladies of Ballaghaderreen Golf Club won the Connaught Cup in 2006.

Ballaghaderreen Golf Club won the Connaught Irish-Mixed Foursomes in 1983 and the Huzzar Vodka Ladies Connaught Foursomes the same year.

They won the I. L. G. U. Connaught Cup in 1978.

They won the Lonleitros Golf Alliance in 1995 and 19998.

Ballaghaderreen won the Connaught Shield in 1970, when the team was Oliver Burke, Paddy Conlon, Monsignor Michael Carty, Freddie McGovern, Jimmy Hiney, Vincent Moran, Michael Mitchell, Don Conlon, Gerry McGuinness and John Galvin.

Fllorentine Gallagher won the Smithwicks-Evening Press Golf Personality of the Month Award in May 1984.

Club-mate's Patricia Dolan (21), Maura Cawley (18) and Mary Sharkey (20) filled the first Three places in the Mayo Cup and the home team won the team event at Ballaghaderreen in ?

In the clubhouse you will find the bag and clubs used by Dr. Douglas Hyde, first President of Ireland.
