Members Achievements

Dungarvan Golf Club won the All-Ireland Junior Foursomes in 1985, when the team was Austin Spratt, John Deasy, Derry Kiely and Kieran Hogan.

They won the Munster Final of the Jimmy Bruen Shield in the Munster Branch Centenary year of 1991, when the panel was M. Flynn, B. O'Kennedy, B. Foyle, T. Lineen, J. Spratt, K. Cusack, P. J. Killigrew, J. Harty, E. P. Kiely, M. Hanrahan, R. Spratt, D. O'Neill, M. Lynch, J. Hogan, J. Elstead, J. Gough and T. Brady. They won the Munster County Club Cup in 1987.

They were Runners-Up in the All-Ireland Brennan Cup in 1996. The squad was P. J. Barry, Tony Brady, Tom Whelan, Cyril Power, Patsy Horsom, Billy Queally, Michael Kelly, Jim Quinn, Jack Elstead, Johnny Hogan, Danny Barry, Michael Kelleher and Tom Conway.

The Ladies of Dungarvan Golf Club won the ILGU Junior League in 1990, when the squad was Breda McCarthy, Chrissie Terry, Peggy O'Brien, Phil Donnelly, Bernie Hayes, Alicia Browne, Rose Prendergast, Mary Kyne and Rena McDonnell. They were captained by Bernie Twomey.

What a year Ann Maher has had, she started the year playing off a handicap of 43, she is now down to 20. Among her many wins in her first year in the game, Ann took her Captain's Prize in June and crowned her year with a four points clear victory in the President's prize to the Ladies, when she returned 41pts.

Ann and Husband Philip were runners-up on their home course in the regional qualifiers of the Spar-Irish Independent National Mixed Pairs Challenge on the 20th of June. They finished the year in real style when they went to Adare Manor to play in the Irish Final of the Spar-Irish Independent Mixed Pairs Challenge in late August. With 52 points they booked their tickets for Tenerife for the big shoot out in November. Remarkably Ann and Philip were only playing golf since October 2000. They finished joint 3rd at the Golf del Sur championship course with a score of 148.

J. Murphy represented Munster in 1987 as did Sean O'Halloran in 1999.
