There is a long and proud tradition of golf in the Ballymote area Co. Sligo. Although club didn't affiliate to GUI until 1947, game can be traced back 1930 when course was based Deroon 1942 land was, divided by Irish Commission. It then moved Carrigans before relocating Templehouse 1954 returning Carrigans.The club represented Connaught in on two occasions the Carroll's Pro-Am at Portmarnock Golf 1985 and 1986.
In 1993 Ballymote Golf Club moved to its present location at Ballinascarrow. The new course was up and running within a short time. greens were built several hundred trees planted. clubhouse, changing rooms, car park rough manicured, all of which are major features course.
The club continues to make improvements over the years and committee have added additional bunkers, reconstructed greens building of new tees are all being pursued with introduction a five year development plan.
Visitors are always extended a warm welcome and memorable game of golf at very affordable rates Ballymote Club.
Societies are welcome and group rates available.

Members Achievements |
Ballymote Golf Club won the Cecil Ewing Shield in 2003, when the team was, Ian Porter, Ciaran Dennedy, Graig Clarke, Paul O'Reilly, Tom Lavin, John Owens, Tony Ballintyne, Trevor Mattimoe, Pat Hough, Liam Dennedy and they were captained by Sean Henry. Ballymote won the All-Ireland J. B. Carr Diamond Trophy at Woodenbridge G. C. in 1999, team was Noel Mullaney, T. Hunt, Michael Fitzpatrick, Tom Cannon, Bartley Cryan, Jimmy White, Paddy Kerins, Joe Fitzgerald, Alfie Banks, Gerry Sheridan and they were captained by Micky Cunnane. Seniors County Championship.
Lady Captain Kitty Farren, Captain Manzoor Hussain and Mickie Guanne, qualified for the Mercedes Benz-Irish Independent Executive Golf Classic at The K Club in 1997, they finished 5th.
Paddy Mullen, Pat Ridge and Charlie Scanlon represented Connaught in the Carroll's Pro-Am at Portmarnock Golf Club in 1985 playing with Christy O'Connor Jnr. The club was represented by Charlie Scanlon, Paddy Mullen and Par Ridge.
Tommy Joe Hunt, Brian Kennedy and Stephen Cannon represented Connaught in the Carroll's Pro-Am at Portmarnock Golf Club in 1986 playing with my hero Seve Ballesteros.
