Course Description:

Delvin Castle golf club combines the stately setting of a castle demesne with one of the warmest welcomes of the Midlands. Steeped in history, the spacious layout makes full use of the mature parkland with spectacular views across North Westmeath. The course is 6,019 m par-69, with a standard scratch of 68. The purpose built clubhouse serves food all day.

Members Achievements

Delvin Castle Golf Club won the Newsam Cup in 2002, when the team was, David Murphy, Christy King, Gerry Maguire, Damien Doyle, Colm Maher, Willie Dugdale, Christy Reilly, Fergus Kiernan, Ger Tunney, Felim O'Neill, Denis Neville, Feargal Connell and John Craig, they were managed by Tommy McNamee.They won the Leinster Mixed at Headfort Golf Club in 2001, when the team was, Liam Hennessy, John Farrelly, Stephen Kelly, Michael Kelly, Anne Cassidy, Stephanie Hevey, Marie Cummins and Mary Daly, they were captained by Donie Cassidy and Kathryn Cooney.

Like her predecessor Lady Captain Kathryn Cooney and her Captain's Prize winner Joan Heery toped the qualifiers of the Volkswagen-Irish Independent Lady Captain's Classic at Headfort Golf Club in September 2001. Joan playing off 38 and Kathryn off 9 posted a score of 41 points three clear of their nearest rivals. They booked their place in the National Final at Druid's Glen on the 1st of October.

They won the Leinster Mixed at Headfort Golf Club in 2000, when the team was, Sean Gough, John Farrelly, Donie Cassidy, Sean Burke, Marie Cummins, Bernie Dugdale, Kathryn Cooney, Stephanie Hevey and Ann Dugdale, they were captained by Tommy McNamee and Mary Daly.

Delvin Castle Won the All-Ireland Australian Spoons in 1999. The team was Mary Daly and Kathryn Cooney and Kathryn was runner-up in the Midland Junior Championship Matchplay in 1996. They were Midland Trophy Finalists in 1995, when the team was Moira Jordan, Kathryn Cooney, Bernie Dugdale, Margaret Smyth and Ina Flanagan.

The men were finalists in the Provincial Towns Cup in 1999, when the team was, Paul Coll, Ollie Halpin, Ciaran Leavy, Tommy McCormack, Martin Doherty, Matt Mulligan, J. J. Bartley, Joe Daly, Peter Ledwith, Donie Cassidy, Sean Burke, Tommy Timmons and Pat Walsh, they were captained by Liam Hennessy.

They were runners-up in the Newsam Cup in 2000.

Anne Dugdale (39), Lady Captain 2000 and her Captain's Prize winner Siobhan Fitzsimons (27) won the qualifying round in the Volkswagen-Irish Independent Lady Captain's Classic at a windy Headfort Golf Club in September, 2000. They went on to play the National Finals at Druid's Glen.
