Course Description
Course Description:

Situated in the historic town of Enniscorthy, the club was founded in 1925. The fairways are generous and the course has many beautiful old trees, which will give the golfer that extra degree of difficulty. A very beautiful and testing 18 holes, it has been described by course architect, the late Eddie Hackett, as a "joy for the average golfer and a test for the expert". The spacious modern clubhouse offers a full range of facilities and a warm welcome and friendly atmosphere awaits all visitors. Situated, one mile from Enniscorthy-New Ross road.

Club History
Club History

Instituted 1906, affiliated 1935. There is some confusion as to when golf was first played at Enniscorthy. There is evidence to prove it was in 1906. However, The Irish Field on 22nd February 1914 reports "Golf has languished for some time past at Enniscorthy owing to the course being most unsuitable and play only allowed from December to April. Ground for a new course has been secured near the town and Mr. W. C. Pickeman of Portmarnock has been asked to lay out the course and promises to do so". The present club has no knowledge of an existence before 1925. The GUI records give an affiliation date of 1908 for the previous club.
