Course Description
.

Rumour has it that the Earl of Fitzwilliam spent a lot of time playing golf at Coollattin together with a golfing professional of his acquaintance, in the early part of the 20th century. The club was founded in 1960 and registered with the GUI in 1962 it opened as a scenic 9-hole Parkland set in this tranquil part of the "Garden of Ireland". It became apparent that because of the demand to play golf in such pleasant surroundings the club decided to extend to 18 holes. They retained the service of Peter McEvoy & Sporting Concepts who transformed what was a little gem into a national jewel. Coollattin Golf Club has a charming clubhouse, where the visitor is extended the warmest of Wicklow welcomes.

Club History
.

Instituted 1949, affiliated 1950. It would appear golf has been played at Coollattin as far back as 1922. The Irish Times, 5th August, 1922, reports "A new golf club with a representative committee from Shillalagh and Tinahely districts, with the Rev. M. Fitzsimons and Mr. McKenna as Secretaries, has recently been organised and has acquired beautiful grounds at Coollattin Park." The club must have gone into decline, as there is no mention of it again until 1949.

Members Achievements

Coollattin were in the Semi-Final of the Leinster section of the Pierce Purcell and lost in the final of the Brennan Cup in 2000.

A. M. Dalton was selected on the ILGU junior squad in November 2000.
